Boletus haematinus [Halling]

This interesting North-Sierran Bolete is a member of Section Luridi, where we have two other local species B. satanas and B. pulcherrimus.  Likely a mycorhizal associate of Red Fir (Abies magnifica), it is common around Yuba Pass. I have collected it around Lake Almanor, as well, but never in the Southern Sierra.
