Cortinarius largentii  Ammirati & M.M. Moser 1997                                                      *California

Cortinarius largentii is a typical member of the Calochroid super-clade. This particular species bears great resemblance to the classical Cortinarius calochrous, but in fact genetically it is closely related to Cortinarius corrosus. This species is common in coastal Northern California (Mendocino and Humboldt counties), but I have not seen it outside of that area and also no collections are reported from Washington or British Columbia.
